Troubleshooting
A file will not open
Section titled “A file will not open”Confirm the file is a valid .djvu document. Damaged or partially downloaded
files may fail to open - try downloading the file again, or open it on the
device that created it to confirm it is intact.
Search finds nothing
Section titled “Search finds nothing”The document probably has no text layer. Run text recognition, then search again. If recognition finds little text, the scan quality may be too low for reliable OCR.
Text recognition is slow
Section titled “Text recognition is slow”Recognition processes every page on your Mac, so large documents take time. The result is cached, so it only happens once per document. You can choose View > Stop Text Recognition to stop early; pages already recognized stay searchable.
The export is very large
Section titled “The export is very large”Choose a lighter Quality preset when you export to PDF. Compact produces the smallest files; High balances size and quality. Turning on Enable OCR also adds to the file size and export time.
Quick Look preview is blank
Section titled “Quick Look preview is blank”Reopen the Finder window, or restart Finder from the Force Quit dialog (⌘ ⌥ Esc), and try again.
