A file will not open
Section titled “A file will not open”Confirm the file is a valid .djvu document. Damaged or partially downloaded
files may fail to open - try downloading the file again, or open it on the
device that created it to confirm it is intact.
Search finds nothing
Section titled “Search finds nothing”A DjVu page can display readable words without containing searchable text. Search needs embedded text or an OCR result. No matches can also mean recognition errors, a different spelling, or an incomplete text layer.
Search DjVu files and recognize scanned text
Text recognition is slow
Section titled “Text recognition is slow”Recognition processes every page on your Mac, so large documents take time. The result is cached, so it only happens once per document. You can choose View > Stop Text Recognition to stop early; pages already recognized stay searchable.
The export is very large
Section titled “The export is very large”File size depends on the source pages and export settings. Try a short page range before exporting a long document, and compare the resulting PDFs. OCR can change the size and take longer. Check the finished file against any upload limit.
Quick Look preview is blank
Section titled “Quick Look preview is blank”Reopen the Finder window, or restart Finder from the Force Quit dialog (⌘ ⌥ Esc), and try again.
