Opening a document

Niraqua DjVu opens DjVu documents, the .djvu (and .djv) files produced by scanners and DjVu encoders. Both single-page and multi-page documents are supported.

  • Double-click a .djvu file in Finder (once Niraqua DjVu is the default app for DjVu files - see below).
  • Drag a .djvu file onto the Niraqua DjVu icon in the Dock.
  • From the app, choose File > Open and pick a .djvu file.
  • Right-click a .djvu file in Finder and choose Open With > Niraqua DjVu.

Each document opens in its own window, so you can read several at once.

To open every DjVu file with Niraqua DjVu automatically:

  1. Select a .djvu file in Finder.
  2. Choose File > Get Info ( I).
  3. Under Open with, choose Niraqua DjVu.
  4. Click Change All… and confirm.

After this, double-clicking any .djvu file opens it in Niraqua DjVu.

A damaged or partially downloaded file may fail to open. See Troubleshooting for what to check.
