## A file will not open

Confirm the file is a valid `.djvu` document. Damaged or partially downloaded
files may fail to open - try downloading the file again, or open it on the
device that created it to confirm it is intact.

## Search finds nothing

A DjVu page can display readable words without containing searchable text. Search needs embedded text or an OCR result. No matches can also mean recognition errors, a different spelling, or an incomplete text layer.

## Text recognition is slow

Recognition processes every page on your Mac, so large documents take time. The
result is cached, so it only happens once per document. You can choose
**View > Stop Text Recognition** to stop early; pages already recognized stay
searchable.

## The export is very large

File size depends on the source pages and export settings. Try a short page range before exporting a long document, and compare the resulting PDFs. OCR can change the size and take longer. Check the finished file against any upload limit.

## Quick Look preview is blank

Reopen the Finder window, or restart Finder from the Force Quit dialog
(`⌘` `⌥` `Esc`), and try again.
